Netflix's Wednesday is creeping back onto our screens in 2025, and it sounds like things are already in motion for a potential third season. Jenna Ortega recently spilled some behind-the-scenes details that will have fans even more impatient for the next installment.

Season 3 Already in the Works?

Ortega confirmed to Collider that while nothing is officially greenlit, the creative team is wasting no time brainstorming what's next. "We haven't gotten an official thumbs up or anything like that, but I know that the writers are… With a show like that, you kind of want to get ahead of the game," she shared. Translation: Netflix hasn't officially given Season 3 the go-ahead, but the showrunners aren't waiting around for permission.

Where Is Season 2 in Production?

So, when will we finally see Wednesday Addams back in action? According to Ortega, post-production is still in full swing. "We're still in the edit. I was doing ADR for it two weeks ago," she revealed. "That's the funny thing about these jobs, you're done, you wrap, but you're not really done. So, I'll probably be working on it until the end."

According to the Latina star, the team is fine-tuning every creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky detail to make sure Season 2 delivers.

Horror Vibes Turned Up to Eleven

If you thought Season 1 leaned heavily into its horror roots, just wait—Season 2 is taking it even further. Ortega teased some of the cinematic influences shaping the next batch of episodes, revealing that there's an entire episode dedicated to classic slasher films.

"Visually, I can say we have some of the most fun we've ever had," she said. She even dropped a wild detail about a scene involving Pugsley:

"There is a frame of Pugsley rolling his eyes back with this contraption around his head, that's all I can say, and it reminds me so much of Full Metal Jacket. It's insane. So bizarre."

It sounds like things at Nevermore Academy are getting even weirder—and we're here for it.

Lady Gaga Joins the Madness

One of the most exciting additions to Season 2? Lady Gaga. The queen of avant-garde pop is stepping into the Wednesday universe, and Ortega couldn't be more excited.

"She's the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I've ever worked with," Ortega gushed in an interview with IndieWire. "Then just finding out that she's such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it's very strange."

Gaga's role is still a mystery, but she teased Entertainment Weekly with a cryptic statement: "I don't want to give away anything… I want to keep it extra secret."

More New Faces & Addams Family Lore

Alongside Gaga, Season 2 is bringing in some major names, including Steve Buscemi as Nevermore's new director, Barry Dort, plus Billie Piper and Joanna Lumley.

Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar say the new season will be darker, more complex, and packed with Addams Family history.

"This season, Wednesday's journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore," they told Tudum. "We look forward to exploring more Addams Family lore and introducing an eclectic lineup of incredible new characters."

And with Season 3 already being cooked up behind the scenes, it's safe to say Wednesday is just getting started. Bring on the gothic chaos!
