Selena Gomez is back with new music, and she's bringing fiancé Benny Blanco along for the ride. On Thursday, February 13, she announced her upcoming album, "I Said I Love You First," dropping March 21, and gave fans an early taste with the first single, "Scared of Loving You."

"We can't wait to share this special project with you soon," Gomez wrote on Instagram. Blanco echoed the excitement on his own page, sharing behind-the-scenes clips from their album photo shoot and writing, "i cant believe i get to spend the rest of my life with you."

A Musical and Personal Collaboration

The couple, who announced their engagement in December 2024 after a year of dating, have worked together before. Blanco has an impressive record as a producer, collaborating with almost every major artist you can think of—Ed Sheeran, BTS, Rihanna, SZA, and Ariana Grande, to name a few. He and Gomez previously teamed up on her 2019 song "I Can't Get Enough" and 2023's "Single Soon," Now, they're making it official in more ways than one.

In a November 2024 cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez opened up about her relationship, saying, "this is the safest I've ever felt in one, and I see a future with this person." Now, that future includes a full album together.

From the Big Screen to the Studio

Gomez's return to music comes on the heels of her acting role in "Emilia Pérez," a film that landed 13 Oscar nominations but is now at the center of controversy over resurfaced social media posts by its star, Karla Sofía Gascón. Despite the drama, Gomez stands by her work. "Some of the magic has disappeared, but I choose to continue to be proud of what I've done," she said last week. "I'm just grateful and live with no regrets."

She added, "And I would do this movie over and over again if I could."

But for now, it's all about the music. And if "Scared of Loving You" is any indication, "I Said I Love You First" will be a must-listen.

Justin Bieber's reaction

The internet's latest theory stars Justin Bieber after he allegedly shared a cryptic message targeting his ex-girlfriend. After Gomez, 31, shared the exciting news on social media, revealing glimpses of the romantic proposal and receiving congratulatory messages, Justin's Instagram activity had fans raising eyebrows.

The "Peaches" singer posted a sweet selfie featuring his wife, Hailey Bieber, kissing his cheek during their luxurious trip to Costa Rica. What caught fans' attention, was the song he paired the post: Lizzy McAlpine's "All My Ghosts."

The emotional ballad reflects on lingering memories of an ex and features lyrics like "I can see it now, the wedding of the year" and "When all my ghosts disappear." Another poignant lyric, "Oh, all my ghosts are with me / I know you feel them too," fueled the theory that the song choice was deliberate.
