Around 11,000 athletes will participate in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, among those, sports stars from Latin America.
Latin America is a nursery for talent, and from boxing to track and field, it is possible to find the greatest of all times. As the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games is in full swing, we wanted to enlist the Latin American countries that have won the most medals in the Olympic Games history, according to the International Olympic Committee.

Cuba occupies position number one as the Latin American country with the most medals in the Olympic Games history. Although the Caribbean nation didn’t take part in the games for several decades, they won 78 gold, 68 silver, and 80 bronze for a total of 226 medals. Although Cuba is the Latin country with the most medals in judo, they dominate boxing, winning 73 awards to date.

Brazil ranks in second place after Cuba, winning 30 gold, 36 silver, and 63 bronze medals for a total of 129. Among Latin American countries, Brazil stands out in judo with 22 medals.

Argentina comes in third place after accumulating 74 medals. Among them, we can find 21 golds, 25 silvers, and 28 bronzes. The nation stands out in boxing after earning 24 awards, as well as in football. Argentina is the most winning Spanish-speaking country.

To date, Mexico owns 69 medals (13 golds, 24 silvers, and 32 bronzes). The country has excelled in diving and boxing.

Colombia is the fifth Latin American country with the most Olympic medals. With a total of 28 medals, athletes have secured the top positions in boxing, weightlifting, and cycling.
