Rita Wilson is not afraid to try out new things. The actress and singer just shared a topless photo showing off her back, which now has a large back tattoo in the shape of a cross.

It's unknown if the tattoo is permanent or temporary, but she's connecting the ink with the promotion of her new song. "Who else is stranger with age? STRANGER WITH AGE song is out everywhere," she wrote. The song is a part of the deluxe version of her album, "Sound of a Woman."
The photo appears to have been taken in a bathroom and shows Wilson topless, smiling as the photographer captures the cross on her back. The tattoo occupies the lenght of her entire spine, featuring some designs on the outside of the cross and in it.
She also showcased an arm tattoo, located on the side of her shoulder, showing a sun and some writing underneath. The rest of the post shows Wilson showcasing some youthful behavior, including surfing and making funny faces at the camera.
The message has inspired some commentary from her friends. Julianne Moore left numerous hearts while Brandi Carlisle wrote, "What an absolute boss."
"Love this!" wrote Reese Witherspoon.
The connection between Wilson and her son Chet Hanks
Whether it's real or not, the tattoo has a deeper meaning for Wilson. The design is almost identical to her son Chet Hanks's tattoo, which is also in the shape of a cross and covers most of his back.
He shared a look at it in a video he posted in May, where he's seen using a bow and arrow while wearing some swim trunks.
Wilson shares two kids with Tom Hanks: Chet and Truman. She's also a stepmother to Hanks' previous kids, Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Ann, whom he shares with his ex, Samantha Lewes.
Wilson and Hanks met in the '80s on the set of the TV comedy "Bosom Buddies." They met again a few years later on the set of "Volunteers," officially starting their relationship. They got married in 1988.
When discussing the secret to their long relationship, Wilson credits the bathroom as an important place where the two catch up and discuss their days. "That's where you download everything," she told PEOPLE. "That's where you download the day. You laugh about what you're doing. In the mornings, you're thinking about, 'What are you doing today? Where are you going to be? Great, I want you there.'"
