Billie Eilish added an unexpected new role to her résumé. The Grammy- and Oscar-winning singer reportedly officiated the wedding of her older brother and longtime musical collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, as he married actress, creator, and beauty entrepreneur Claudia Sulewski in Montecito, California.

Finneas and Sulewski married on Saturday, August 29, surrounded by family and friends, according to Vogue. Photos from the outdoor ceremony showed Eilish standing with the couple as they exchanged vows, with multiple outlets reporting that the “Birds of a Feather” singer served as the officiant.

Eilish’s role in the ceremony brought another family connection to a wedding already filled with personal details.

The singer appeared at the ceremony as her brother married Sulewski after approximately eight years together. Entertainment Weekly reported that photos showed Eilish positioned between the bride and groom while officiating.

The wedding took place in the Montecito area, with reports identifying San Ysidro Ranch as the venue. Guests reportedly included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Nina Dobrev, Emma Chamberlain, Rachel Sennott, Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Black. Eilish’s boyfriend, Nat Wolff, was also among the reported attendees.

Billie Eilish Had the Sweetest Reaction to Claudia’s Wedding Dress

Before the wedding, Sulewski invited Vogue along to her final Oscar de la Renta fitting in Beverly Hills. Eilish could not attend the fitting in person, but she joined via FaceTime after her mother, Maggie Baird, called her to show off Sulewski’s ceremony gown. “My God, I can’t believe it,” Eilish said after seeing the bride.

She then told Sulewski, “You look like an angel,” before adding, “Love you so much!”

Claudia Sulewski Wore Four Custom Oscar de la Renta Looks

Sulewski did not settle on a single wedding dress. The bride worked with Oscar de la Renta on four custom looks for the wedding festivities, including outfits for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and after-party.

Her main wedding gown was an ivory silk faille ball gown featuring a drop-waist bodice, structured pleated skirt and dramatic asymmetric scarf detail extending along the train. “There’s something about this dress that just demands a moment of silence,” Sulewski told Vogue while discussing the ceremony gown.

The bride explained that she had explored the fashion house’s archives and found herself particularly interested in dramatic, princess-inspired silhouettes.

Her reception look featured a sculptural peplum made with upcycled feathers, while her after-party outfit took inspiration from Oscar de la Renta’s playful early-2000s designs.

Even the couple’s rescue dogs, Peaches and Moose, were included in the fashion plans. Matching silk faille bows were created for the dogs from fabric connected to Sulewski’s ceremony look, with the pets set to serve as “flower dogs.”

How Did Finneas and Claudia Sulewski Meet?

Finneas and Sulewski’s wedding came roughly eight years after they first met through a dating app in 2018. Their connection apparently developed quickly.

Finneas has previously revealed that he began writing his song “Claudia” on the same day he met his future wife. After sending her part of the song, Sulewski responded with a memorable warning. “You’re trouble,” she texted him, Finneas recalled in a 2019 interview.

The relationship soon became serious. The couple bought a home together in 2019, and Sulewski continued to inspire Finneas creatively. She later appeared in the music video for his 2022 song “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa.”

Finneas and Claudia Sulewski Got Engaged in 2025

After seven years together, Finneas proposed to Sulewski in September 2025 during a mountaintop date. They announced the engagement with a joint social media post featuring the caption, “forever and ever 9.22.”

Finneas later admitted that keeping his proposal plans secret had been surprisingly difficult. “I’m very relieved that it happened,” he told Jimmy Fallon while discussing the engagement, explaining that holding onto the happy secret for several weeks “ate me alive.”

The proposal eventually led to their California wedding less than a year later.
