Prince Jackson stepped out in Las Vegas over the weekend to honor his late father, Michael Jackson, on what would have been the King of Pop’s 68th birthday.
On Saturday, the 29-year-old made a rare public appearance at Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE show. In video footage obtained by Page Six, Prince joined a crowd of fans in a birthday tribute, raising his hand on the count of three before everyone shouted, “Happy birthday, Michael!”
Prince kept his look casual for the outing, sporting a black baseball cap backward with a black shirt. He also appeared to be in good spirits as he mingled with fans, chatted with attendees and seemingly signed autographs.
A Look Back At Michael’s Family
Michael welcomed three children during his life: Prince, daughter Paris Jackson, 28, and youngest son Bigi Jackson, 24.
Prince and Paris were born to Michael and his former wife, Debbie Rowe. The couple married in 1996 before ending their marriage three years later in 1999.
Prince has continued to honor his father publicly over the years, often finding personal ways to keep Michael’s memory alive.
Prince’s Emotional Fashion Tribute
Earlier this year, Prince paid tribute to his dad in a subtle but sentimental way at the Los Angeles premiere of the Michael Jackson biopic in April.
The eldest Jackson child wore a red armband with his suit that was made from fabric taken from one of his father’s signature red corduroy shirts.
Michael Bush, who served as Michael Jackson’s longtime costume designer, created the suit Prince wore for the premiere.
Prince explained to ABC News that the armband was made from the same type of fabric his father frequently wore.
“And actually, the armband was made out of the fabric that my dad would always wear — the red corduroy shirt,” he said. “And that was my childhood, like if I hugged my father, that was what he was wearing.”
He’s Kept Family Moments Mostly Private
Although Prince doesn't frequently make public appearances, he has occasionally stepped out alongside members of the Jackson family.
In 2024, he was seen with Paris, Bigi, aunt La Toya Jackson and uncle Marlon Jackson at the funeral of his uncle Tito Jackson.
Prince has also remained connected to his father’s legacy through his work. He served as an executive producer on the 2026 biographical film Michael, which explores the life and career of the legendary performer.
Prince Defends His Dad’s Legacy
Prince has previously spoken candidly about how he believes his father has been portrayed by the public.
While speaking with ABC News, he described Michael as “probably one of the most misunderstood people out there.”
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at age 50. His death was caused by acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication, resulting in cardiac arrest.
Even years after his passing, Prince continues to carry his father’s memory with him.
In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Weekly, he shared a simple message about keeping loved ones close: “As long as you celebrate them, they’re never gone.”
