Tom Segura is opening up in depth about his divorce from Christina Pazsitzky for the first time, describing the split as an "awful" and "horrible" experience that has been an emotional rollercoaster.
The comedian addressed the split during the August 12 episode of Your Mom's House, a week after Pazsitzky became emotional while discussing the divorce herself. Segura said the experience has been "horrible" and "emotionally, a rollercoaster."
"Your emotions change many times a day. You don't feel the same all the time. It's really tough on you," Segura said, explaining how emotionally difficult the experience has been.
Why Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky addressed the divorce separately:
Segura also addressed criticism over his absence from last week's episode, explaining that he and Pazsitzky have been recording separately for months because the separation itself is not new to them.
"The truth is that we have been recording separate episodes for a long time now because everything that people know is not new to this," he said. "It's been many, many months."
Segura added that they had mutually decided to record separately and that Pazsitzky's episode simply aired first. "We both decided to record separately. That's just what we are doing," he said.
Tom and Christina are still speaking every day:
Despite calling the experience "awful," "horrible" and emotionally difficult, Segura stressed that the former couple are not locked in a hostile breakup.
"We're not combative," he said. "We talk every day. I support Christina in everything she does, [and] she supports me."
Their biggest priority, he said, remains their two sons, Ellis and Julian. "Our focus, as you would imagine, is just on our children," Segura said. "We are just trying to provide the best life we can for them and we are trying to take care of them."
Segura also made clear that he does not intend to repeatedly discuss the divorce publicly. "This is it for me. I'm not gonna talk about this [more]," he said.
Christina Pazsitzky previously opened up about the split:
Pazsitzky addressed the breakup during the August 5 episode of Your Mom's House, telling guest Duncan Trussell that she and Segura had tried for years to save their relationship.
"Yes, Tom and I are divorcing, and it is extremely sad," she said through tears. "We have tried to work it out for several years for the sake of our children and our family, and we gave it all we could, but we just couldn't work things out," she continued. "We are no longer a couple."
Pazsitzky also emphasized that the divorce was not hostile. "This is not an ugly divorce," she said, later adding, "We're cool, dude."
Their split after nearly two decades of marriage:
TMZ first reported on July 13 that Segura and Pazsitzky had separated after 18 years of marriage, with sources describing the split at the time as "completely amicable."
People subsequently confirmed the separation through its own source. The comedians married in 2008 and share Ellis, born in 2016, and Julian, born in 2018.
They also built a major professional partnership together, co-hosting Your Mom's House and creating YMH Studios, the comedy podcast network behind several shows.
Although they have addressed the breakup separately, both Segura and Pazsitzky have emphasized that there is no animosity between them and that their focus remains on supporting one another while co-parenting their two sons.
