Anne Hathaway had nothing but praise for Tom Holland after the two worked together on Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey. In fact, the Oscar winner says she'd be thrilled if her own children grew up to be just like her co-star.

During a joint interview with CTV's e-talk, Hathaway, who is currently expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, joked that Holland set the bar incredibly high after playing her son in the film.

Hathaway Calls Holland Her 'Dream Son'

Hathaway stars as Penelope in The Odyssey, with Holland portraying her on-screen son, Telemachus. When asked how she tapped into her maternal instincts for the role, the actress admitted working opposite Holland made the job easy.

"As a mom in real life, I very much hope all of my children grow up to be as wonderful as my onscreen child," Hathaway said while gesturing toward Holland, who burst into laughter and nearly spit out his drink.

She went on to gush over the actor, saying, "Tom is like a dream son. And that, honestly, is kind of like the key to it. We have this amazing script, brilliant actors."

"But also, I just really like Tom," she said with a laugh, before noting that she also loves co-star Matt Damon, who plays King Odysseus in the film.

According to Hathaway, the atmosphere on Nolan's highly anticipated movie set was driven by genuine respect and appreciation among the cast.

"And I love Chris, and so I just feel like even though this was this big, epic movie, it was really grounded in, like, intimate appreciation of each other, respect for each other," she explained. "I don't think any of us wanted to let Chris down. So I think we all just kind of harnessed our highest strength and our highest passion, and we just tried to be an actor that was worthy of being in a Chris Nolan movie."

Baby No. 3 Is on the Way

The sweet comments come just weeks after Hathaway announced that she and husband Adam Shulman are expecting their third child together.

The actress, who was recently named PEOPLE's World's Most Beautiful 2026, shared the pregnancy news on Instagram on June 19 with a video showing off her baby bump.

"x Baby, I'm yours x," she captioned the post.

Hathaway and Shulman are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. The couple has long kept their family life out of the spotlight.

Why Hathaway Doesn't Want Her Kids to Be Child Stars

While Hathaway clearly wouldn't mind if her children grew up to share Holland's character, she's previously made it clear she hopes they won't follow the child star path.

In a 2022 interview with WSJ. Magazine, the Devil Wears Prada 2 actress said she'd encourage her kids to enjoy being children before pursuing acting professionally.

"I would probably take the same tack that my parents did with me, which is: You have all the time in the world to be a professional actor; you can only be a child once. So I would encourage them to study, to go to classes, to read," she said.

She added, "But I would strongly discourage them from starting too young. I think that they'll be in a position where they'll be able to go to college and figure out where they want to go from there."
