Another one of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children appears to be distancing themselves from the Pitt name.
According to a new report, the former couple’s youngest son, Knox, was listed as "Knox Jolie" rather than "Knox Jolie-Pitt" during his recent high school graduation, making him the latest sibling to seemingly drop his father's last name.
Knox Reportedly Uses ‘Jolie’ at Graduation
Knox, who turns 18 on July 12, recently graduated from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles. According to Page Six, his diploma identified him as "Knox Jolie," omitting Pitt from his surname.
While there is no indication that Knox has legally changed his name, the move follows a pattern established by several of his siblings, who have either formally or informally stopped using their father's last name in recent years.
A Growing Trend Among the Jolie-Pitt Children
Knox is one of six children shared by Jolie and Pitt, who were together for more than a decade before their highly publicized split.
The former couple are parents to Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Several of the siblings have already taken steps to distance themselves from the Pitt surname.
Earlier this year, Zahara officially petitioned a California court to remove "Pitt" from her last name. However, she had already been publicly introducing herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" months before filing the paperwork.
In August 2024, she used the name during her induction into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College. More recently, when she accepted her diploma during her college graduation ceremony in May, she was introduced as "Zahara Marley Jolie," despite the commencement program listing her full surname as Jolie-Pitt.
Maddox and Shiloh Have Also Made Changes
Zahara wasn't the first sibling to make the switch.
Her older brother Maddox legally removed Pitt from his surname earlier this year. The 24-year-old now goes by Maddox Chivan Jolie after citing "personal" reasons in court documents.
Meanwhile, Shiloh successfully petitioned to remove Pitt from her last name shortly after turning 18 in 2024. At the time, her attorney, Peter Levine, described the decision as one she made independently following what he called "painful events."
Vivienne Previously Dropped ‘Pitt’ Professionally
Knox's twin sister Vivienne has also appeared to move away from using the Pitt surname publicly.
In May 2024, she was credited as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which she worked on alongside her mother.
The only sibling who has not publicly addressed whether he still uses the Pitt surname is Pax.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Long Divorce Battle
Jolie and Pitt's relationship began in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The pair married in 2014 but separated just two years later when Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.
Their split sparked years of legal disputes involving custody arrangements, shared assets, and allegations connected to an incident that reportedly occurred aboard a private plane during a family trip that same year.
Authorities investigated the matter at the time, and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services ultimately closed the case without findings of abuse.
Despite that outcome, the breakup evolved into one of Hollywood's most closely watched divorce battles, with legal proceedings stretching on for years.
Family Changes Continue After Divorce Finalization
After nearly eight years of legal wrangling, Jolie and Pitt finalized their divorce in December 2024.
Now, as more of their children reach adulthood, several have chosen to publicly embrace the Jolie name, signaling an ongoing shift within one of Hollywood's most famous families.
Although Knox has not announced any formal legal name change, his graduation appearance as "Knox Jolie" has added to growing speculation that he, too, is choosing to leave the Pitt surname behind.
