Selena Gomez's eating habits don’t match the delicious recipes she used to create in her cooking show, at least according to her husband, Benny Blanco. During a private taping of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Podcast in West Hollywood, Blanco gave fans a candid glimpse into Gomez’s everyday diet, joking that she “has the diet of a five-year-old child.”

The producer revealed that the “Only Murders in the Building” star loves “whatever is bad for your diet,” specifically naming burgers, fries, and fast-food breakfasts among her go-to cravings.

“This morning I walked in, and she was eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning,” Blanco said during the live recording attended by Goop fans. Paltrow appeared genuinely shocked by the confession, reportedly responding, “This is NOT Goop approved!”

Selena Gomez Still Loves Fast Food

Blanco admitted that getting Gomez to eat healthy food can be a challenge. He said one of the few nutritious meals she genuinely enjoys comes from Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness-focused takeout brand. “She will eat the s**t out of Goop,” Blanco joked, adding that the restaurant serves his favorite pizza.

The producer also said Gomez avoids vegetables whenever possible. Blanco shared that when she orders the Chinese chicken salad, she eats the toppings and leaves the lettuce behind for him to finish. “She doesn’t really like fruits or vegetables,” he explained.

This confession is surprising, especially given Gomez’s polished celebrity image and successful beauty empire, Rare Beauty, which has a very clean aesthetic.

Selena Gomez Junk Food Favorites

Over the years, Gomez has repeatedly shared her love for comfort food and snacks. Back in 2011, the singer revealed she had been hospitalized for malnutrition after relying too heavily on junk food. “I do eat. The problem is I don’t eat right,” Gomez said at the time. “I love M&M’s, Kit Kats, Snickers and Goobers at the movies.”

She has also publicly declared Jack in the Box as her favorite fast food chain. “I get two tacos, two egg rolls, curly fries, and a chicken sandwich,” she said during an interview with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

In a 2016 interview with Bon Appétit, Gomez revealed that her tour bus staples included “Hot Cheetos, chocolate, and pickles.” Adding: “I love a good plate of fried chicken.”

Her Health Battle

While Gomez’s fast-food-heavy diet often becomes a topic online, the singer has also been battling health issues. The actress lives with Lupus, which is an autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation, fatigue, and weight fluctuations.

In 2017, Gomez underwent a kidney transplant due to complications from lupus, with her then best friend Francia Raisa donating the kidney.

In September 2017, Selena revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant thanks to a friend, actress Francia Raisa, who donated her the organ.

Gomez has also explained that medication and lupus-related symptoms can dramatically affect her body.
