Sandra Bullock has plenty to celebrate and reminisce on this Mother's Day. To celebrate the occasion, the actress and producer shared some photos of motherhood on her Instagram, an account she opened just a couple of months ago.
Bullock shared three photos, including one of her late grandmother and another one of her mom and her sister. The photo of her and her grandma showed the two talking in a wooded area, with Bullock listening intently.
The second image showed Bullock as a child, on skiing trip with her mother, Helga Meyer, who died in 2000. The photo shows her mother carrying her and Bullock's sister, Gesine.
The last image centers on Bullock's own journey with motherhood, showing her with her kids, Louis and Laila. "To all the mamas," Bullock captioned the post. "No matter how you came to be, Happy Mother’s Day. We are all bound by this honor of a lifetime. Mom and Omi, thank you for teaching me. We miss you. Sorry I was such a brat."
Bullock's journey as a mother
Bullock became a mother through adoption in her late '40s, opening up about her experience and how unique her journey has been.
"I don't know why that was the only route, but I'm so glad the universe had me wait,” she said on Red Table Talk in 2022. "Had me wait even though I was anxious and I was eager — and it went nope, you're not going to do it the way you think you're going to do it."
A couple of years ago, she revealed that she had taken a step back from acting and working in order to focus on raising her kids.
"I'm not retiring, just going to not spend time in front of the camera for a while. I have beautiful babies. I'd rather look at them,” said Bullock in an interview with PEOPLE from 2022. "I'd rather look at them every day and have them be mad at me and annoyed and make memories with them for right now."
