Last night was the Met Gala - the biggest night in fashion. It was an interesting red carpet with social media debating many of the looks. There were many power couples in attendance, but one man was noticeably missing - Timothee Chalamet. His girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, walked the red carpet with her bleached eyebrows.
As for where the Wonka star was, it's not too surprising if you know him. He was courtside at the Knicks Eastern Conference Game 1 Semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers, where the Knicks dominated 137-98.
Chalamet made the right decision because he watched them make history. They are officially the first team in NBA history with three consecutive 25+ point playoff wins. While all the A-listers were showing their best interpretation of the dress code "Fashion is Art," Chalamet went for sports chic, wearing jeans and adidas.
Another celebrity fan is Ben Stiller, and Chalamet and Stiller are courtside neighbor regulars. They were side by side at the Eastern Conference first round of the NBA playoffs, between the Knicks and Indian Pacers.
The actors have been spotted together as far back as 2020.
At the Met, Stiller made it known on the red carpet that his heart was somewhere else. The Zoolander star walked with his wife, Christine Taylor.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said, "Knicks in six," while holding up six fingers. "My heart is at MSG," he added. While Stiller showed the team some love, it's safe to say Chalamet is winning the title of biggest celebrity Knicks fan.
In December 2025, the A Complete Unknown star opened up about his Knicks roots with 7 PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony. “I don’t cherish anything more in my new life than my [Madison] garden access," he shared. But he wasn't always buying them for himself; he had a business plan in mind. "Just growing up and waiting for those tickets. The summer I was 12 or 13, I booked a Disney commercial, made a couple thousand, and bought the cheapest season tickets I could find—thinking LeBron James was coming to the New York Knicks," he explained.
Chalamet was actually a scalper to the scalpers. "I thought, okay, I’m going to flip these for double or triple. Then he didn’t come, but Amar'e Stoudemire did… so I was basically able to sell them at face value, he explained. “I grew up on 43rd and 9th, so I’d run down to the Garden. I would scalp to the scalpers—they were $25 a ticket.”
“I’d go to as many games as possible. My whole life, my grandma was a huge Knicks fan—that’s what turned me on to them.” “If you live in New York, you are a Knicks fan. My grandma had a New York Giants teddy bear and a New York Jets teddy bear, but she only had a Knicks teddy bear," he continued.
He's gotten Kylie at them before, too. Just last week, they had a courtside date.
Meanwhile, Kylie attended solo, wearing a nude Schiaparelli gown.
