Inter Miami CF just announced that global superstar Marc Anthony will perform the National Anthem at the club’s historic first home match at Nu Stadium this Saturday, April 4, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV.

The night is set to kick off a new era for Inter Miami, inspired by the club’s motto, Freedom to Dream. For owners Jorge Mas and Jose Mas, that message reflects their family’s journey as Cuban exiles chasing a better life, a story that resonates with many people across South Florida.

For owner David Beckham, the moment is about seeing a long-held vision come to life. That dream started back in 2007 when he joined Major League Soccer as a player, and continued with his efforts to bring top-tier soccer back to South Florida and build a permanent, state-of-the-art home for the club in Miami.

Marc Anthony is widely considered one of the most influential artists of his generation. Born Marco Antonio Muñiz in New York City to Puerto Rican parents, he’s the best-selling salsa artist of all time and a major force in Latin music and culture.

Now in his fourth decade in the industry, he’s earned dozens of gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America, scored more than 114 number one hits worldwide, and racked up over 12 billion views on YouTube along with more than 20 billion streams across platforms. Known for his powerful voice and high-energy performances, he’s also one of the most active touring artists out there, regularly landing on Pollstar’s Global Top Grossing Tours lists.

With strong personal ties to the club, including his close friendship with Beckham, it feels like a natural fit for him to take the stage. Beckham even has Inter Miami’s motto, Libertad Para Soñar, tattooed in Anthony’s handwriting. That connection makes his National Anthem performance ahead of the first match at Nu Stadium even more meaningful.
