Carlos Alcaraz is not just dominating tennis; he’s building a legacy that’s etched in both trophies and ink. The 22-year-old World No. 1 continues to show that when he says something, he follows through. His latest move? A brand-new tattoo honoring his victory at the Australian Open 2026.

Fresh off securing his seventh Grand Slam title, Alcaraz revealed a kangaroo tattoo on his left shin, staying true to a personal tradition that’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about rituals in tennis.

A Kangaroo, a Trophy, and a Statement

The tattoo isn’t random. It’s symbolic, intentional, and deeply tied to the moment. The kangaroo—an unmistakable nod to Australia—appears to be holding the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, the iconic prize awarded to the men’s singles champion.

The design is clean and striking: black ink outlines with subtle shading, partially hidden beneath his sock. It’s understated but meaningful, much like Alcaraz himself. He first showed off the tattoo during the Miami Open on March 17, instantly sparking conversation among fans and analysts alike.

He Called It Before It Happened

What makes this even more compelling is that Alcaraz predicted it. While competing in Melbourne, he was asked what tattoo he’d get if he won. His answer was immediate: “Kangaroo.”

This tattoo ritual began after his breakthrough win at the US Open in 2022. At just 19, Alcaraz became the youngest men’s World No. 1 in ATP history.

To mark the moment, he got “11.09.22.” tattooed on his left tricep—the date of his life-changing victory. Since then, every major win has added another layer to his story.

From Strawberries to the Eiffel Tower

Alcaraz’s tattoo collection is becoming a visual timeline of his career milestones. After winning Wimbledon Championships in 2023, he added a strawberry tattoo near his ankle, a playful but iconic symbol of the tournament.

He also commemorated his triumph at the Paris Olympics with an Eiffel Tower design, blending sport with cultural identity in a way that feels personal rather than performative.

Each tattoo tells a story. Together, they form a roadmap of a career that’s still accelerating.

At just 22, Alcaraz already has seven Grand Slam titles and a growing list of career-defining moments. But what’s equally fascinating is how he’s choosing to document that journey.
