Joe Manganiello and Caitlin O'Connor have become the latest celebrities to move out of Los Angeles. The engaged couple has found a new home in Pittsburgh, with O'Connor opening up about their decision to move back to the city where they both grew up.
In an interview with Fox News, O'Connor opened up about the couple's new home. "Pittsburgh is the perfect place to start fresh," she said.
"All of our neighbors are so nice, generous, and helpful. In a big city, you don’t have that kind of community that we have here."
O'Connor also discussed the crime in Los Angeles, which she says is at an "all-time high. We were thinking about it for a long time, and the right house happened to come up. We went to look at it in Pittsburgh, and it was perfect for us."
O'Connor is an actress, like Manganiello, and believes that nowadays, her home base doesn't really affect her work opportunities.
"For the most part, everything is on Zoom. A lot of premieres happen in New York. There are studios being built in New Jersey, and things are moving overseas. Many projects are being filmed overseas, even by professionals who have worked in L.A. on set their whole lives. The industry has moved. It’s no longer there," she said.
O'Connor and Manganiello's love of Pittsburgh
O'Connor and Manganiello have a deep love for Pittsburgh, one that is rooted in their childhoods and the fact that they both grew up there.
“That's what we really connect on, you know, we share the same upbringing, the same hometown knowledge. And that's what really connects us as a couple,” O'Connor said in an interview with PEOPLE. “So it's beautiful to be back home together.”
She revealed that their move hasn't been dampened by the loss of the Los Angeles sunny weather. Even the snow is something that brings them together. “I mean, I watched Joe shovel snow in our driveway for two-and-a-half hours yesterday. And it was the hottest thing I've ever seen,” she joked.
The pair were first linked romantically in late 2023 and announced their engagement in October of last year. They shared the news on separate Instagram posts, sharing images of O'Connor's ring, the trips they take, and their adorable Chihuahua and partner, Bubbles.
