Kim Kardashian is stepping into her first-ever leading role in a Netflix feature, and she’s doing it in head-turning style. The reality star and entrepreneur appears front and center in newly released first-look images from 'The Fifth Wheel,' a female-driven comedy directed by Eva Longoria.
In one behind-the-scenes photo from the set, Kim Kardashian seemed in good spirits, having fun and flashing a confident smile while wearing sleek black leather pants paired with a fitted, asymmetrical black top.
Styling her signature jet-black hair straight and rocking a glamorous beauty look, her ensemble leans effortlessly sexy yet polished, perfectly matching her role as the film’s “hot outsider.”
Netflix revealed the images as production officially gets underway on the comedy, which also stars stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser and boasts an ensemble cast that includes Fortune Feimster, Brenda Song, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, and Scott MacArthur.
Written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, 'The Fifth Wheel' follows a group of former high school best friends attempting to reconnect during a weekend trip to Las Vegas.
According to the official logline: “A group of best friends from high school attempt to reconnect during a weekend jaunt to Vegas. When a hot outsider (played by Kim Kardashian) crashes the weekend, they’re forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions, and unraveling friendships.”
The project marks a major milestone for both Kardashian and Longoria. For Kardashian, 'The Fifth Wheel' is her first leading role in a feature film and her first collaboration with Netflix.
The comedy is the latest chapter in her expanding acting career, following her turn as Allura Grant in Hulu’s legal drama 'All’s Fair' and her role as publicist Siobhan Corbyn alongside Emma Roberts in Season 12 of 'American Horror Story.'
In June 2025, it was also reported that Kardashian would take on a villain role in an upcoming 'Bratz' movie for Amazon MGM.
For Longoria, the film represents her second time directing a feature and her first for Netflix. The filmmaker previously directed 'Flamin’ Hot' in 2023, a Hulu and Disney+ release chronicling the creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Behind the camera, the film is produced by Paula Pell, Kardashian, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez, alongside Cris Abrego and Eva Longoria’s Hyphenate Media Group. Mary Bundy and David Hyman serve as executive producers.
'The Fifth Wheel' also joins Netflix’s growing slate of Los Angeles–based productions. While a release date has yet to be announced, the first-look images suggest a glossy, comedic spin on the classic Vegas getaway, putting female friendship, chaos, and reinvention front and center.
