Dolly Parton is celebrating a special occasion. The singer and songwriter has entered a new decade, celebrating her 80th birthday on January 19. She shared a video, sharing her desires for the coming year and a great quip about her plastic surgery procedures

"Well, hey there, it's Dolly. And I've made it! I'm 80 years old. Can you believe that?" she says in the video, shared on her social media. "Oh lord, I've outlived so many plastic surgeons. Happy birthday to me!"

The clip shows Dolly looking stunning in a pink velvet suit, which she paired with a white top and a butterfly brooch pinned to her jacket. "I hope I live another 80 years. But I hope I've still got my plastic surgeons in line," she said, laughing and pulling at the sides of her face.

To commemorate the special occasion, Dolly decided to give her audience something back: a new version of one of her biggest songs.

"And I'm gonna give you the gift of a bunch of friends that stopped by to help me sing on a song called 'Light of a Clear Blue Morning,' a song I wrote years ago," she said. "In fact, it's 50 years old. We did a new version of it."

"I'm giving you the gift of Queen Latifah, Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus, and Lainey Wilson."

Dolly's health issues

Earlier this month, Dolly canceled an appearance at a concert meant to celebrate her birthday, citing some health issues. While she's made it clear that the health concern is not grave, it follows a trend of canceled performances and shows.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she said last September. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” she continued, making it clear that the health concerns weren't related to her “usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.”

“While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready,” she said. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”
