Camila Morrone is the breakout star of a new TV show. The Argentine-American actress is now starring in the new season of "The Night Manager," where she's quickly become one of the standout actors due to her captivating performance as Roxana Bolaños. In a new interview, Morrone made a reference to her notorious romance with one of the world's biggest Hollywood stars, Leonardo DiCaprio.
In an interview with The Times, Morrone discussed her career and her slow but steady rise through Hollywood, including appearances in shows like "The Night Manager" and the hit series "Daisy Jones and the Six."
At one point, the interviewer references Morrone's past relationship with DiCaprio, which, at one point in her career, was one of the most emblematic things about her.
"When you’re an actor, people will always find things about your personal life,” she said. “Perhaps with projects that will change, but it’s something that comes with the territory. Having grown up in Hollywood, I was around it. I was around celebrities. It’s normal [for people] living in LA to see Brad Pitt at the coffee shop, you know?"
Morrone has been acquainted with fame long before she dated DiCaprio; in fact, her mother dated Al Pacino for some years. "I knew how ruthless the industry was, and the scrutiny and the spotlight on people in this industry," she said. She described her relationship with Pacino as fond, calling him, "technically not my stepfather, but he was my mom's partner for a very long time."
“How lucky am I to have known him and to have been raised in his presence," continued Morrone. "I mean, he’s the Messi of my industry. I think I’ll always look back on my childhood and be in awe that I was in the presence of someone like him.”
More details about Morrone and DiCaprio's relationship
Long before Morrone acquired critical acclaim in the industry and an Emmy nomination for her work in "Daisy Jones and the Six," she dated Leonardo DiCaprio for years, becoming one of his most recognizable recent relationships.
The pair were first linked together in 2017, going on vacations together, spending time with each other's families, and attending numerous parties and events together. At times, Morrone had to address their 23-year age gap, discussing it with the media.
"There's so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps," she said in a 2019 interview with The Los Angeles Times. "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."
Still, she understood why some people would be intrigued by it. "I probably would be curious about it, too."
