Natalia Bryant is extending the restraining order against her stalker. The 22-year-old daughter of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant first went to the authorities when she was 17 years old against Dwayne Kemp, a man who reportedly believes that he and Natalia were involved in a romance.
The news was first reported by TMZ, with courts approving the restraining order's extension for five more years, and now includes her mother and sisters.
The restraining order was extended after Kemp broke his restraining order over the summer, trying to attend an event "organized by Ms. Bryant and her employer to make contact with Ms. Bryant."
"Kemp brought flowers that he intended to give directly to Ms. Bryant, but when he could notlocate her, he instead attempted to deliver the flowers to Ms. Bryant's mother, Vanessa Bryant, with the intention that those flowers be delivered to Ms. Bryant," continued the document. The filing supplemented these claims with photos of Kemp holding on to a bouquet of flowers, with him sharing an image of a similar bouquet on social media.
According to Natalia's lawyers, Kemp's behavior "demonstrates his continued fixation and complete disregard" for the restraining order that exists against him.
Once Kemp was stopped by authorities, he said that he believed the restraining order had expired and was not breaking any rules.
More details about the restraining orders
TMZ reports that Natalia's restraining order dates back to 2022, when Kemp first reached out to her at the age of 17. The Daily Mail reports that court documents state that Kemp first reached out to Natalia via social media, sending her direct messages. These attempts escalated, with him trying to make contact with her at her sorority.
LAPD sent a letter to Kemp, warning him to stay away from Natalia. "Your behavior has caused Natalia Bryant concern and fear, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department's Threat Management Unit to initiate a police investigation into your communications with Natalia Bryant," it reads.
"Any actions by you toward Natalia Bryant will be evaluated, and charges brought."
Natalia's team is also concerned about Kemp's online behavior, which shows that he is a gun enthusiast. He is also a registered gun owner, having a firearm under his name.
