Kaia Gerber has a new project signed up. The daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber has signed on to "The Shards," a new TV show developed by Ryan Murphy. The project will have her working with Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere. The moment marks a significant beat for the Crawford and Gere families, marking the first time the children are working together, reminding the world of Crawford and Richard Gere's marriage 30 years ago.
Kaia and Homer, 24 and 25 respectively, have been spotted shooting the series in Los Angeles, which follows a group of high school friends in the '80s after their group is rattled by a tragedy.
Kaia and her brother Presley are the children of Crawford and Gerber, with the couple getting married in 1998 and remaining together to this date. Homer is Gere's eldest child, whom he shares with his second wife Carey Lowell. The pair were married for 11 years.
Crawford and Gere have opened up about their relationship, with Crawford noting their 17 year age gap and how much that affected their dynamic. In the documentary "The Supermodels," Crawford revealed that she changed a lot of parts of herself to align with Gere.
"You’re willing to kind of mold yourself around whoever you are in love with,’” she said. “In the early stages of a relationship, as a young woman, you’re like: ’You like baseball? I like baseball.'" The pair fell in love when Crawford was 21 and Gere was 38. They married a few years later, when she was 25, and divorced three years later.
“At 22, I may have been more willing to follow, but as time passed, I realized I didn’t want to be a mere follower; I wanted to lead at times and walk side by side at others,” she said.
