Jon Bon Jovi is opening up about his family and the joy he's experienced over becoming a grandparent. The musician is sharing his thoughts on Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's daughter, whom they adopted earlier this year.
Bon Jovi was featured on the "Today Show," revealing that his connection to his granddaughter was instant, occurring the minute he saw her. “Immediately, you fall in love," he said.
"When we met Jake and Millie’s daughter, it was just immediate."
He also revealed the nickname that she'll likely call him. “Like, ‘That’s my granddaughter.’ And it’s cool. She won’t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes,” he said.
Earlier this year, Bon Jovi also shared his thoughts on becoming a grandparent. “It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,” he said to XO Bunnie on her podcast. “They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously, and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean?” he said. “Your baby.”
He also shared his annoying trait. “It’s beautiful. I want to see pictures, like, every other day,” he said. “I’m that pain in the butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool.”
More details about Brown and Bongiovi's baby
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi welcomed their daughter earlier this year, sharing the news on a social media post. “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” they shared in a joint statement.
“We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” continued the statement.
“And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.” The parents have yet to reveal their daughter's name, with the two being very private about the details of their personal lives. The pair has kept important plans and events away from the media's attention, like their wedding.
Bon Jovi has also opened up about Millie and Jake's relationship, and how, despite their age, the two are very mature and committed to each other and their family.
“We blessed it because we get it, you know?” he said of the marriage. “They’re sorta mature beyond their years. She comes from a family where her parents are still together and they married very young.”
“Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought, ‘OK, we’ll support this,'” he said. “And it’s working out.” The pair started dating in 2021, getting married three years later.
