The daughter of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith tied the knot with Alex Gruszynski in a private ceremony at the historic monastery of La Abadía de Retuerta, in Valladolid—a setting that blended elegance, spirituality, and the Spanish essence that has always defined the Málaga-born actor’s family.

An Intimate Wedding with Spanish Soul

The bride arrived at the altar on her father’s arm, visibly moved, while the notes of an unpublished piece composed by her great-uncle filled the air. The music was performed by guitarists from the Teatro del Soho, the cultural project Antonio Banderas leads in Málaga.

 After the long-awaited “I do,” "Here, There and Everywhere" by The Beatles played, giving a romantic and timeless touch to a ceremony lit by candles and warm details reminiscent of a family home.

Though Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith separated a decade ago, their bond was evident throughout the celebration. Both took part in the preparations and shared the joy of watching their daughter begin a new chapter.

The former couple—who have always maintained a relationship of affection and respect—appeared proud of the connection that continues to unite them as a family.

A Hollywood Family on Spanish Soil

The wedding gathered three generations of artists, from Tippi Hedren, the legendary "The Birds" actress and grandmother of the bride, to Dakota Johnson, Stella’s half-sister and one of the most anticipated guests. “Many of our relatives and friends will be visiting Spain for the first time, and I’m sure they’ll fall in love with its magic as much as I have,” Stella told ¡HOLA!, reflecting her deep affection for the Andalusian roots inherited from her father.

Stella and Alex first met as children at the Wagon Wheel School. What began as friendship eventually blossomed into love years later, in 2015. After a brief separation, fate brought them back together, and over time, they built a relationship defined by maturity and deep understanding.

Their wedding represents the perfect culmination of a journey that began in childhood and evolved into an enduring love story.

Two Creative Paths Intertwined

The groom, Alex Gruszynski, of Polish descent, studied Business Administration at Wake Forest University and specialized in Entrepreneurship at the Marshall School of Business. He founded Nova, a company dedicated to connecting talent in the film industry, a passion he now shares with his new in-laws. 

Stella, meanwhile, studied Narrative Studies at the University of Southern California and, according to her father, is more drawn to directing and screenwriting than acting.
