When it comes to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, one is never enough. Three months after their lavish wedding in Venice, described by many as 'the wedding of the century,' the couple has landed in Paris to show that their connection is not just emotional anymore but also aesthetic. In the middle of Fashion Week, the newlyweds became the center of attention as they stepped out of the Ritz Hotel in perfectly coordinated gray looks, a mirror game that marked their official debut in the European fashion scene.

Sánchez, with the help of her stylist Molly Dickson, the same one who dresses Sydney Sweeney and Ariana Greenblatt, has brought back a true archive gem: a skirt suit from John Galliano’s Spring 1995 collection, one of the rarest pieces from the British designer before his move to Dior. The outfit, retrieved from the depths of Resurrection Vintage’s archive in Los Angeles, features a structured jacket with a peplum waist, floating lapels, and strong shoulders, paired with a fitted pencil skirt. A look defined by powerful lines, perfectly in tune with the silhouette Lauren Sánchez has made her signature: architectural necklines, sculpted curves, and drama.

The story behind the suit is almost as fascinating as the look itself. According to the stylist on Instagram, it was the result of a meticulous search. She wanted to offer Lauren something “historic but with modern energy,” and Resurrection Vintage, founded in 1996 by Mark Haddawy and Katy Rodriguez, opened its personal archives to lend her the piece. Back in the day, the look was first presented on the runway by Yasmeen Ghauri, styled with a small leopard print beret and a thin matching belt, a mix of power and theatricality that foreshadowed the stage genius Galliano would later unleash at Dior. Taylor Russell wore the same suit at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, and Jennifer Lawrence had worn it a year earlier at the premiere of the documentary Bread & Roses.

Lauren gave the look a modern twist with black accessories: pointed toe pumps, a Hermès Birkin bag, and Balenciaga sunglasses. Her hairstyle, created by Rick Henry, a regular member of her beauty team, was a sleek bun with a few loose strands that softened the power of the ensemble.

By her side, Bezos joined the matching couple look game with a coordinated outfit: a long gray coat, a fine knit sweater, and jeans in the same shade. He finished the look with his signature white sneakers, now part of his laid back billionaire uniform. He wasn’t wearing Galliano, but his intention was clear, to complement, not compete. The couple left the Ritz hand in hand, moving through the photographers as if they had rehearsed every step.

This isn’t the first time the Bezoses have coordinated their outfits. They did it before in New York, at the launch party for 72 magazine, where she wore a satin slip dress with a leather blazer and he opted for a sleek black suit to match. But in Paris, their shared style has reached a new level. They’ve moved from Hollywood excess to refined restraint, with nods to the 90s minimalism Galliano reinterpreted during his most experimental phase.

In a season defined by the return of archival and vintage fashion, Lauren joins a trend embraced by stars like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, who have also turned to historic pieces for their appearances in the French capital. Paris has become a stage where the old is once again a mark of exclusivity, and Sánchez Bezos understands that perfectly; nothing signals status more than wearing a Galliano that “no one wanted to lend.”

A few hours later, the businesswoman swapped gray for a leather coat dress cinched at the waist with a wide belt and paired with thigh high leather boots, a look she wore to Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut as creative director of Balenciaga. Sitting front row alongside Anne Hathaway and Meghan Markle, she capped off a weekend of appearances that confirmed her rise as a new force in the fashion world.

Her partnership with Molly Dickson seems to mark a new direction for her style. The stylist, known for mixing archival finds with fresh off the runway pieces, has refined Lauren Sánchez’s aesthetic: structured suits, dresses with architectural necklines, and silhouettes that balance power and sensuality. So far, the formula is working.
