Dwayne Johnson is a true family man. Behind his muscular build and tough-guy looks lies a deeply loving and devoted father, and he recently proved it by showing his love and admiration for his daughter.
“The Rock” goes above and beyond when it comes to his daughters. We've even seen him painting nails or putting on makeup just to make his little girls smile. But time flies, and his daughters are growing up fast.
His eldest daughter, Simone Alexandra, born from his first marriage to Dany García, is now 24 years old and recently accompanied him to the premiere of his latest film, 'The Smashing Machine,' in London.
Though she’s kept a low profile until now, Simone has followed in her father's wrestling footsteps and is now a professional in the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), where she performs under the ring name Ava Raine.
With this, she becomes the fourth generation in her family dedicated to professional wrestling, carrying the legacy of her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, her grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson, and of course, her father “The Rock.”
Ava began training in February 2020 and officially debuted in the ring in April 2023. In addition to wrestling, Simone has also worked as a model and was even the Golden Globes Ambassador in 2018, a moment of pride for both her parents.
Beyond her performance in the ring, Ava has also made history by becoming the youngest-ever General Manager of WWE’s NXT brand, a role that shows her talent extends far beyond physical strength.
The Smashing Machine tells the real-life story of former amateur wrestler and MMA fighter Mark Kerr, played by Johnson himself, and his wife Dawn Staples, a recovering alcoholic, portrayed by Emily Blunt. Johnson walked the red carpet with both Blunt and Ava Raine.
The former world champion became visibly emotional when discussing how Ava has made a name for herself in WWE without relying on his influence. In an interview with MTV UK, he shared, “I am so proud of her. Because it’s what I did, you know? … She was born into it, too, just like I was. And when she said, ‘Hey, I want to do what you do.’ But the difference is, it’s why I get emotional, because she’s like, ‘I want to do what you do, but I want to carve my own path.’ And that’s the difference.”
He added that Ava never once asked him to make calls or pull strings on her behalf. “Because it’s easy, I think, for any kid who wants to come up and do what their parents are doing," he explained. "I’m telling you, it never happened. I never got that call. Like, ‘Hey, can you call someone?’ I never got that call, and that’s the truth. … When you don’t get it, it gave me a profound sense of pride, because, oh, I helped, with her mom, raise an amazing human being.”
The actor is also father to two younger daughters, Jasmine and Tiana Gia, born from his second marriage to singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian, whom he met during the filming of 'The Game Plan.' After 12 years together and two children, they tied the knot in Hawaii in the summer of 2019. Jasmine was born on December 16, 2015, and Tiana on April 23, 2018.
