The 19-year-old son of U.S. President Donald Trump, 79, and First Lady Melania Trump, 55, was expected to resume classes at NYU’s Greenwich Village campus on September 2. Instead, his absence has stirred speculation about his academic direction and future business ambitions.
The NYU Stern School of Business is typically reserved for juniors and seniors and was set to host him in his second year. Reports suggest Barron has opted for a different campus setting, signaling a shift toward a new path outside the spotlight of New York City.
A campus security officer told People: “From what I was told, he’s doing a semester at another NYU campus."
Although NYU officials declined to provide details about which campus Barron Trump has moved to, citing privacy reasons, the university operates degree-granting campuses in Downtown Brooklyn, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai.
It also has multiple learning centers worldwide, including Washington, D.C. The New York Post reports that Barron has opted to continue his sophomore year in the capital, allowing him to live with his parents at the White House.
In January, the Post revealed that Barron was relaunching his luxury real estate firm, Trump, Fulcher and Roxburgh Capital Inc. The business had been registered in Wyoming in July 2024, only to dissolve a few months later in November following his father’s election win.
According to a source quoted by People, Barron spent the summer deeply engaged in business planning. He has reportedly been meeting with partners to explore technology projects and new ventures aimed at launching his own company.
The insider explained: “Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area.”
During his freshman year, which began in September 2024, Barron opted not to live in campus housing. At the time, a political source told People, “[Melania] will do everything she can to make sure Barron does well in school and is socially and mentally adjusted to his life as a college student.
“Living in a dorm in a college town isn’t in the stars for him at this point.”The source added, “Barron already has his own political ideas. It all needs to be monitored in light of the situation.”
