Hernandez shared some of what he's been doing with the SNL writers and cast members, as the series prepares to launch a new season this October 4th. When asked how he's preparing for the new season, he said, "Writing and having a lot of chats with the writers. It's gonna be a good one, I think."

He also addressed the many changes that the show is going through, with seasoned series veterans leaving the series while other favorites have also been let go and are pursuing other jobs. "There's been a lot of changes," he said. "Let's see what happens."

Hernandez's own sports experiences

Hernandez also opened up about his love of sports, including his past as a soccer player.

"I was very bad at playing tennis because I was a soccer player," he said. Before becoming a comedian and one of the breakout stars of SNL, Hernandez wanted to play soccer professionally.
