Kai Trump is officially kicking off her senior year and letting her followers in on the moment. The 18-year-old golfer, who is also the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, joined her friends in a popular senior tradition: heading back to school with a child’s backpack.
In a YouTube vlog documenting the milestone day, she brought viewers along for the shopping trip.
Shopping for the Perfect Backpack
In the video, Kai takes viewers along as she browses through backpacks featuring characters like Bluey, Spider-Man, Dora the Explorer, and Hello Kitty. Explaining the ritual, she said, “I’m actually at Wallmary. Normally, for senior year, you wear a Hello Kitty backpack, so I’m going to buy a Dora or Hello Kitty backpack right now."
After considering a few options, Kai settled on the unicorn design. "This is perfect. I don't like cats, I can't do a cat one."
Holdoing out another brightly colored one with a slogan, she added: "I like this one, 'Make someone smile today'. Oh so many great choices." But ultimately, Kai opted for the lilac unicorn bag, telling the camera: "I feel like this is calling my name. I'm going to get this one."
A Day in the Life: Senior Year Kickoff
Her vlog, titled “My First Day of Senior Year”, didn’t stop at shopping. Kai shared a look at her whole day, including getting ready for a pool party at her friend Emma’s house. The group decorated their cars, packed their new bags, and celebrated the milestone before heading back to school.
The clip was captioned: “I just started my last first day of school, senior year is finally here! Come along for a behind-the-scenes look at the start of this exciting chapter. Thanks so much for watching!!”
