Jennifer Lopez is living her best life, one year after filing for divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The multi-hyphenate star, who celebrated her 56th birthday in July, has kept her schedule packed in the wake of her split from Affleck, 53. Over the past year, she's premiered new films and taken her talents around the world with her high-energy "Up All Night Tour."
The tour has brought Lopez a renewed sense of joy and purpose. A source tells PEOPLE, "She’s been having the time of her life this summer. She loved connecting with fans all over the world. The tour was amazing. It’s been a great focus for her. She’s been doing what she really enjoys."
Next up, Lopez will begin promoting her upcoming movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman.
"This is the movie she filmed last year in New York when she and Ben were going through a difficult time. She’s come a long way since. She’s very happy and just grateful for her life," the source says.
In the immediate aftermath of filing for divorce, Lopez made a public appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, promoting the wrestling biopic Unstoppable. She starred in the film, which was produced by Affleck. Lopez joined fellow producer Matt Damon at the festival, where she spoke to PEOPLE about the project, saying the film explored "complicated dynamics about life that I understand really well.”
Lopez and Affleck — who listed April 26, 2024, as their official separation date — finalized their divorce in early January. That same month, Lopez hit the Sundance Film Festival for the world premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, where she stars alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The film, an adaptation of the 1993 Broadway classic, marks Lopez's first role in a movie musical.
Kiss of the Spider Woman is set to open in theaters on October 10. After that, Lopez will return to the screen in a Netflix romantic comedy titled Office Romance, starring opposite Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein.
"This is gonna be a fun one," Lopez teased on Instagram back in March, sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the production.
To close out the year, Lopez is bringing "Up All Night" to Las Vegas, headlining a residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The limited run kicks off December 30 and runs through January 3, 2026, with additional shows scheduled for March.
