Isabella is the daughter of Charlotte Brosnan, Pierce’s adopted daughter, who passed away in 2013 from ovarian cancer. Charlotte was the biological daughter of Cassandra Harris, the actor’s first wife. Brosnan and Harris met in 1974 and married three years later, in 1977. Harris, originally from Australia, had two children from a previous relationship, including Charlotte, whom Pierce adopted after the death of her biological father.

Cassandra’s death in 1991 at only 43 was a devastating blow for the Irish actor, who suddenly found himself raising three children on his own. Sadly, that wouldn’t be the only tragedy life had in store. Tragically, 22 years after his wife's death, his 42-year-old daughter also succumbed to the same illness. Charlotte passed away just weeks before marrying Alex Smith, the father of Isabella and Lucas, Pierce Brosnan’s eldest grandchildren.
