Pierce Brosnan is still the best example that age has little or nothing to do with elegance and class. At 72, the actor looks more attractive than ever, something he proved again at his latest premiere. The gray hair suits him perfectly, and he truly embodies the saying “Once you had it, you never lose it.” He showed these qualities during the premiere of his latest work, The Thursday Murder Club, in London.
Pierce stars in the highly anticipated Netflix film directed by Chris Columbus, alongside an outstanding cast that includes Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. The movie, based on the first book of Richard Osman’s popular series, follows four residents of a retirement home in the UK who solve murder cases for fun. When a death occurs close to home, the quartet finds themselves caught up in a thrilling detective story.
The Irish actor didn’t hesitate to highlight his incredible experience with the brilliant cast: “I love working with Helen... She is captivating in every sense of the word, as a woman and as an actress. Having seen her work from afar for so many years and then to be in the brilliance of her creativity as an actor is spellbinding,” he explained a few days ago at the film’s presentation in New York.
Beyond continuing to dress impeccably and carrying himself like a true gentleman, Pierce has taken an important step with this new project. It's not just about a fresh haircut, a media-grabbing exclusive, or a daring red carpet look. The real highlight has been the company he chose to present his latest work with.
The actor proudly posed alongside his son Dylan, 28, and his granddaughter Isabella, 26, at the various premieres of The Thursday Murder Club. This Thursday, London saw firsthand that elegance runs in the family, showcasing a strikingly polished and picture-perfect clan. It was a rather unusual sight, since we don’t often see the Irishman accompanied by members of his family tree.
Who is Isabella Smith?
Isabella is the daughter of Charlotte Brosnan, Pierce’s adopted daughter, who passed away in 2013 from ovarian cancer. Charlotte was the biological daughter of Cassandra Harris, the actor’s first wife. Brosnan and Harris met in 1974 and married three years later, in 1977. Harris, originally from Australia, had two children from a previous relationship, including Charlotte, whom Pierce adopted after the death of her biological father.
In 1983, Sean Brosnan was born, Pierce’s first biological son and Cassandra’s third child. Cassandra’s death in 1991 at only 43 was a devastating blow for the Irish actor, who suddenly found himself raising three children on his own. Sadly, that wouldn’t be the only tragedy life had in store. Tragically, 22 years after his wife's death, his 42-year-old daughter also succumbed to the same illness. Charlotte passed away just weeks before marrying Alex Smith, the father of Isabella and Lucas, Pierce Brosnan’s eldest grandchildren.
The 71-year-old actor can proudly say he has a big family, with a total of five children: three from his first wife and two with his current wife, journalist Keely Shaye Smith, with whom he rebuilt his life. The couple met in 1994 but didn’t marry until 2001. Their two sons, Dylan, born in 1997, and Paris, born in 2001, completed a family that continues to grow. The man who once played James Bond is now a proud grandfather of four. The eldest are Isabella and Lucas, children of the late Charlotte, while his son Sean is the father of two more, little Jaxxon and Marley May.
