She remembers it all too well! During her highly-anticipated appearance on the New Heights podcast, Taylor Swift recalled her boyfriend Travis Kelce's brother, Jason Kelce, meeting members of the British royal family at her Eras Tour. As she discussed her shows in London, the Grammy winner said, “Wasn’t this the week that I got to watch Jason meet the royal family?”
She told Jason that she knew he was "serious" when she was "like 'Jason, do you want to go meet...'" Travis then interjected, "He was like, 'What do I do with my beer?'"
Taylor recalled watching Jason "have this moment with his beer where he's just like, 'But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it.' I watched this happen and it was kind of the most amazing..."
As it turns out, that's "exactly" what Jason was thinking. “I like that you picked up on it because that was exactly what was going in my head," he informed Taylor, who then joked, “Like if I don’t have my beer, what do I do with this hand now?”
"Is it disrespectful to have a beer when you meet royalty?” Jason wondered aloud. Taylor added, "Or am I just like being authentic by having the beer? I would normally have the beer, wouldn’t they want me to be myself? I’m watching you say that in your head and it was fantastic. I don't know. I'll always remember that."
Prince William, Princess Charlotte and Prince George attended the first night of the Eras Tour shows in London last June. At the concert, which coincided with the Prince of Wales' 42nd birthday, the royal trio met the pop star. The following day, the Waleses' social media accounts shared a picture of the heir to the throne and his two kids with the singer. Taylor also posted a selfie of herself with the royals and her boyfriend on Instagram, writing: "Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start 🇬🇧🇺🇸🤝."
Travis and Jason later opened up in an episode of their podcast about meeting the future King and his two older kids at the show. “Dude, he was the coolest motherf-----,” Travis said of Prince William, to which his brother replied, “He was awesome.”
“He was so cool,” Travis added.
Jason called the royals "wonderful people" who came off "down to earth." He also said, “I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so f------king adorable. Like, I cannot." Travis agreed, saying: “She was a superstar."
