Shakira is keeping her fans on their toes. Following a month-long break on her US tour, Shakira returned to the stage with plenty of energy and some surprises, kicking off a new round of shows at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Over the course of her tour, Shakira has been surprising fans with performances of her oldest songs. This time around, she opted for one of her most obscure, giving her fans a moment that they won't forget anytime soon.
Shakira performed the song "Men in This Town," from her 2009 record "She Wolf." The moment was captured by fans, who recorded an excited audience as they reacted to the song, with the concert screens displaying the message, "Where are all the men in this town?"
Through the performance, Shakira wore a hat with rhinestones on it and an oversized t-shirt with a wolf printed on it.
The song joins a roster of songs that Shakira has been spotlighting over the past months, including "Poem to a Horse," "Underneath Your Clothes," and "Bruta, Ciega, Sordamuda."
An inside look at Shakira's record-breaking tour
Last month, our sister website HOLA! Spain spoke with Natalia Palomares, one of Shakira's dancers, with the two collaborating on this tour and for years in the past.
Palomares revealed that her professional connection to Shakira dates back to 2019, performing together in the Davis Cup and even joining her for the music video "Girl Like Me."
"She’s very involved in every part of this tour, so I can confirm she has the final say in absolutely everything, and that includes the dancers," said Palomares.
She also opened up about her life on the tour and how challenging these dates are. "Every concert is a physically and emotionally intense experience. You also have to remember that you don’t feel the same every day—some days you’re more tired or less energetic—but you still have to give the same performance for every stadium and every audience," she said.
"Shakira gives her all on stage every single time, and that demands you rise to her level night after night."
