In the middle of a high-powered press tour for his new Apple TV+ series "Chief of War," Jason Momoa shared a personal story that hit all the right notes. The "Aquaman" star opened up about meeting his girlfriend Adria Arjona's father, Latin music legend Ricardo Arjona, and the one-of-a-kind gift he gave him that ended up on one of the world's most iconic stages.
In an interview with the Hispanic TV show 'Despierta América,' Momoa candidly shared his first encounter with Ricardo Arjona. The meeting came just two days before Momoa was about to meet his daughter, Lola Iolani's boyfriend.

Momoa reflected on the timing. Meeting Arjona helped him tap into a deeper, more gracious mindset. "Maybe I was a little more elegant with my daughter's boyfriend," he laughed, "because I was treated so well when I met Ricardo."

If you know anything about Jason Momoa, it's that he doesn't do things halfway. Whether it's free-climbing mountains or diving into a character role, he's all heart. So when it came to honoring Ricardo Arjona, he went for something meaningful. "I brought him my favorite guitar," Momoa said, visibly moved. "And he just played it at Madison Square Garden."
"It was really beautiful," Momoa continued. "I loved it. I was like… oh my god, he's playing my guitar!" It was a heartfelt exchange between two artists. "You want to give everything to a man who already has everything musically," Momoa said. "I just hope he liked it."

Momoa and Adria Arjona met in 2021 while filming the action thriller "Sweet Girl." Their chemistry was immediate, but they kept things private until May 2024, when Momoa made their relationship Instagram-official with a photo from Japan captioned, "Mi amor." Their romance began after both ended marriages—Jason finalized his divorce from Lisa Bonet in January 2024, and Adria split from Edgardo Canales in 2023.
Since then, the couple has stepped more confidently into the public eye, without ever losing that sense of grounded, real connection that fans love to see.

Momoa brought family along for the ride at the 'A Minecraft Movie' premiere. They brought the cuteness with coordinated outfits, blending bold style with their signature couple chemistry. Jason’s mom, Coni Momoa, joined them too.
They made their red carpet debut on Valentine’s Day 2025 at the star-studded SNL50 concert and have been seen at several events since. Most recently, they attended the "Minecraft" premiere in Mexico City. Adria even made tortillas on the trip, which Jason reportedly loved. They also bond over motorcycle rides, with Jason joking it’s just “an excuse for more hugs.”

For fans missing Andor since its finale earlier this year, good news awaits. Arjona will take on her next major role, replacing Taylor Russell as the female lead in the third cinematic adaptation of The Thomas Crown Affair, a sleek and stylish heist film starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan.
The story first appeared on screen in 1968, with Steve McQueen as the charming thief and Faye Dunaway as the determined investigator. In 1999, Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo starred in a modern update that embraced style, romance, and an elaborate art heist. Each version has reimagined the plot for its time, mixing suspense with strong on-screen chemistry between the leads.
Production is underway in London, with The Thomas Crown Affair set for a March 5, 2027 release.
