Katy Perry was spotted with an unlikely date earlier this week. As Perry continues her tour in Canada, she was spotted in a restaurant in Montreal having dinner with Justin Trudeau, Canada's former Prime Minister.
In photos captured by TMZ Canada, Perry and Trudeau were seen sitting at a table located at Le Violon, a restaurant located in the Le Plateau region in Montreal. The pair were seated by one of the restaurant's windows, with the two smiling at each other and chatting.
Trudeau wore a brown jacket and smiled at what Perry was saying, while she was captured leaning towards him, with her hair styled long and loose.
According to an eyewitness at the restaurant, the pair "sipped cocktails and shared several dishes ... including one with lobster."
The restaurant's chef approached the table, and Perry and Trudeau stopped by the kitchen to greet everyone and thank them for the meal. The outlet reports that both Perry and Trudeau had security teams, with them seated at the bar with their backs turned to the pair.
Perry's tour and her personal life
Perry is currently touring in Canada, with her having performances scheduled in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and more in the coming days. While the meetup with Trudeau could be friendly, they're both notably single.
Trudeau split from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023, marking the end of their 18-year marriage. "As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build," reads their statement, shared on Instagram. They share three kids: Xavier, Ella Grace, and Hadrien.
Perry announced her split from Orlando Bloom earlier this year.
"Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting," said a rep to US Weekly. "They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."
The two share a daughter named Daisy.
