Charli XCX and George Daniel were married on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at Hackney Town Hall in London, surrounded by just 20 close friends and family members. And they’re not the only ones saying “I do” this summer.
From Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos tying the knot in Venice, to Josh Lucas and Brianna Ruffalo’s elegant Vatican City ceremony, to Zein Qutami and Celio Saab’s lavish Lebanese celebration, not to mention all the buzz around the upcoming nuptials of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, 2025 is shaping up to be the season of star-studded love stories.
The couple exchanged vows in front of a small guest list that included George’s bandmates from 'The 1975', Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann. Notably absent was the group’s frontman, Matty Healy.
Charli, 32, wore a chic Vivienne Westwood Nova Cora mini-dress featuring an off-the-shoulder design, draped detailing, and a cinched corset. She paired the look with a traditional veil and finished the ensemble with her signature Brat sunglasses.
George, 35, wore a casual black suit with an off-grey shirt and a white flower pinned to his jacket, matching Charli’s bouquet.
The celebration later moved to Ellie’s, a trendy new bar in Dalston known for its £8 ($10) martinis and rising reputation in London’s nightlife scene. Before the party, Charli changed into a second white outfit to avoid any drink-related mishaps with her £3,300 ($4,275) Westwood dress.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds hosted a private dinner reception at Dalla, a nearby Italian restaurant they rented out for the occasion.
A source told The Sun newspaper, “Charli’s wedding reception was the epitome of Brat. She and George wanted to keep it very cool, so they shunned cars and walked down Hackney High Street to get to Dalla. The restaurant had closed, and they had a massive family-style meal with plenty of pasta and champagne.
“People walking past were stunned when they saw Charli and George having a cheeky pre-dinner cigarette outside. Charli and George then went to a nearby hotel to get changed before they went to Ellie’s for a party.”
“To get in, you just had to walk up to the front and say ‘Charli.’ Once inside, Charli and George had laid out a free bar, and there were trays of cigarettes lying around for the smokers. There was a ‘no social media policy’, so no one posted any of the pictures from the reception online. It went on until around 4 am when everyone crashed out and went home.”
The pair are also planning a second wedding in Sicily later this year.
“Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there. It’s incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It’s costing tens of thousands of pounds, and visually it will be mesmerising."
The source also told the outlet, “They have both had such a busy summer with massive shows, but from mid-August, they’re able to slow down and focus on their big day.“It’s going to be pretty star-studded too, with plenty of their celeb mates making the journey over to Sicily to watch them say ‘I do’."
Charli and George got engaged in November 2023 after a year of dating.
