Sami Sheen may have known what was on the horizon with her mom and soon to be ex step dad. In a TikTok posted on Saturday, two days before Aaron Phyphers filed for divorce, the 21-year-old content creator spoke about toxic relationships.
"If you're dating someone toxic, but you don't really know if they're toxic," she began, describing the inner conflict of a love-hate cycle. Her advice? Imagine if you had a daughter dating a man like that. "What would you tell her?" she asked. "It's like I would tell her to break up with him, block him, move on. Like, he's a piece of shit, treats her like s**t."
"I don't know, that works for me, because sometimes it's so easy for me to, like, overlook everything. But if I'm imagining having a kid and she's getting treated like this, absolutely the f**k not," she continued.
The timing of the post couldn’t have been more poignant. Just two days later, PEOPLE confirmed that Phypers filed for divorce after nearly six years of marriage. He listed July 4, the day before Sami's video, as the date of separation.
What's going on with the divorce
According to court documents, Phypers is requesting spousal support, asking to divide their Smoke & Mirrors Entertainment company, and hoping to keep his tools, motorcycle, and sports car as separate property.
Despite him saying he's made no income since closing his wellness business in 2024 (the same one where he met Denise back in 2017), he estimates that she brings in around $250,000 a month from OnlyFans, brand deals, and appearances.
Phypers also claimed their monthly expenses top $105,000, which includes $18K in rent, $20K in clothing, and $5K on laundry, and noted he still lives with Richards and her youngest daughter, Eloise, 14. Richards also shares Sami and 20-year-old Lola Sheen with ex-husband Charlie Sheen.
The pair was last seen together in May at a fundraiser, and it's unclear when things went wrong aside from the Independence Day date. In a March episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, they joked about the idea of divorce. “I’m never getting divorced again,” Richards said at the time. “Even if we hate each other.” Phypers added, “We’ll just have different homes or something.”
