Hailey Bieber's dad is opening up about how he really feels following the news that she sold her Rhode Skin company to e.l.f. Beauty in a $1 billion deal.

"It took her three years," her father, actor Stephen Baldwin, told host Adam Carolla during the June 25 episode of The Adam Carolla Show. "What, did you think that was just some rotten tomatoes journey?"

"The cool part of it is she's super smart, smart in business," he continued. "Succeeded as a model prior to everything she's doing now. But the cool part was she actually had an offer to do something pretty big and cool in the cosmetics a couple years ago and didn't."

Baldwin went on to explain that Hailey actually wanted to make products that she would use herself, meaning the company “wouldn't just be B.S.” where she simply “put her name on it" to make some money.

"The reason it's succeeding is people are responding to it," the actor continued. "It actually works as hydration and all of that."

Stephen--who is also dad to 32-year-old daughter Alaia Baldwin Aronow—went on to talk about how it feels to see his daughter making a name for herself in the industry, admitting that he takes a hands-off approach to all of his kids' careers.

"I let my kids do what they're doing," the 59-year-old shared. "And if they want to throw a boomerang at me, I'll call them back...I'm blessed that my two daughters married two great guys."

Despite selling the company for a huge price tag, the actor also insisted that, no matter how much money his kids make, family will always come first.

"The sweet part of my kids, too, is, in the wake of whatever their success is, their dad remains the same," he said. "I've always been the same way. You know you're going to tell your daughter the truth."
