Dakota Johnson's hot girl summer kicks off in Ibiza with Kate Hudson

Dakota Johnson is leaning into the sunshine after her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Just weeks after news broke of their reported breakup, the Fifty Shades of Grey star was spotted on a girls' getaway in Europe, soaking up the sun with actress Kate Hudson and celebrity stylist Sophie Lopez.

On July 1, the trio was seen lounging aboard a yacht off the coast of Ibiza, radiating carefree energy as they dipped in the Mediterranean and reclined on a white floating raft. Johnson kept it classic in a barely-there white triangle bikini, while Hudson turned heads in a yellow-and-white floral ruffle two-piece.

The group appeared in high spirits, smiling, chatting, and embracing the moment, an insider snapshot of Johnson's "healing era," as she surrounds herself with close friends during this transitional chapter.

The Mediterranean sun was shining, and so were the smiles as Johnson, Hudson, and Lopez enjoyed a glamorous day on the water. Photographed aboard their luxury yacht, the trio looked relaxed and radiant, lounging on the sun-drenched deck before floating together on a sleek white raft. Laughter and sun-kissed skin set the tone as the group soaked up the coastal breeze and leaned into full vacation mode.

Johnson, 35, showcased her toned figure in a minimalist white bikini featuring a triangle top and low-rise, cheeky bottoms, and when she was not in the water, she also wore a delicate beaded necklace and oversized sunglasses.

Hudson, 46, complemented the scene in a yellow-and-white ombré string bikini with ruffle details. Their playful, carefree mood and coordinated swimwear turned the afternoon into a full-on fashion moment.

Just days earlier, on June 28, Johnson and Hudson were spotted dining al fresco in Rome with entrepreneur Douglas Chabbott and Johnson's agent Maha Dakhil. Their Italian evening even included a surprise cameo from singer Ricky Martin, who stopped by their table to say hello while en route to another restaurant.

Before news of the breakup surfaced in June, Johnson and Martin had been seen attending a yoga session together. The couple, who had kept their romance tightly under wraps since first being linked in 2017, were known for maintaining privacy throughout their seven-year relationship. 

Neither has commented publicly on the reported split, in keeping with their preference to stay out of the spotlight. The pair also never confirmed engagement rumors that swirled in recent years.

In a December 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, Martin called Johnson one of his closest friends, saying, "Phil [Harvey], Dakota, Jonny [Buckland], Will [Champion] and Guy [Berryman]. my kids." He added, "It is important to say that [romantic love] is such a big factor in everything, even though it feels right to keep it precious and private; I'm not denying its power."

Johnson echoed that sentiment in a December 2021 ELLE interview, "We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes. But we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private."

The couple made their first public appearance together in January 2018 at fashion designer Stella McCartney's Autumn/Winter Collection preview, following rumours of their relationship that began the previous year.
