Start your engines! Brad Pitt just hit Mexico City with a smile that was as smooth as his new movie. The Hollywood heavyweight rolled into town to promote "F1: The Movie," where he plays a race car driver returning to the track to mentor a rising star. And yes, he definitely brought the star power with him.
During the premiere event, held at Parque Toreo in the State of Mexico, Pitt made rounds and made memories. Smiling from ear to ear, he greeted fans, signed autographs, snapped selfies, and handed out charms like they were merch.
"It's incredible to be here. Thank you for all the love. We worked on this project for three years, and I'm really excited to finally share it," Pitt said, according to local media.
He wasn't alone. Pitt, playing veteran racer Sonny Hayes, was joined by co-star Damson Idris (who plays up-and-comer Joshua Pearce), actress Kerry Condon, director Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick"), and producer Jeremy Kleiner. The movie officially hits theaters across Latin America on June 26.
Buzzcut and Lavender Suit
Of course, it wouldn't be a Brad Pitt moment without a little style twist. For the occasion, the actor rocked a freshly shaved head and a sleek lavender suit paired with a soft pink T-shirt.
This marks Pitt's third visit to Mexico in recent years. Back in 2022, he was here to promote "Bullet Train," and just last October, he was spotted at the Mexico City Grand Prix, filming scenes for "F1" at the legendary Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Will 'Checo' Pérez Be in the Movie?
According to FOX Sports, Sergio "Checo" Pérez appears in the film. A source told the outlet that fans can expect more than just a fleeting cameo. Checo reportedly shares at least one on-screen moment with Pitt himself.
"Many people think Checo only appears in what was shown in the trailer. That's not the case—he has more screen time, including a scene with Brad Pitt," the source revealed.
At the time of filming, Checo was still racing for Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen, so his inclusion is timely and extra sweet for fans of both racing and cinema.
Damson Idris spoke with Vanity Fair and shared how surreal it was to make a film with Hollywood legends. “I look to my left, it’s Brad Pitt. I look to my right, it’s Javier Bardem. I look at my hands, they’re shaking,” said Idris. “And we shoot all of this epic stuff, and all the amazing drivers are there, from Lewis [Hamilton] to [Max] Verstappen to everyone.”
