Actress Lux Pascal is opening up about the unwavering support she shares with her brother, Pedro Pascal, and the powerful lesson she’s learned from the beloved actor. The pair are known for being inseparable and Lux has been photographed next to Pedro on multiple occasions on the red carpet, most recently at Cannes Film Festival.
In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter at Madrid’s Platino Awards, Lux, 32, reflected on Pedro’s kindness, both on and off camera. “I’m incredibly proud,” she said about her brother’s success, which includes his role in 'The Last of Us' and an upcoming appearance in Marvel’s 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps.'
“But the thing is that I’ve always known that he is a superstar,” Lux added. “It’s funny because people have been asking me, ‘Is he as kind as we think he is?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes!’”
Lux described Pedro as someone who “wears all of his humanity on his sleeve” and “doesn’t hide who he is.” She credits him for inspiring her authenticity.
“And I think that’s refreshing because usually, we move around the world hiding who we are. That’s the main lesson I’ve gotten from him: there’s no reason for me to hide who I am, right? And I think people are seeing that," she told the publication.
The siblings’ strong bond extends beyond family pride. Pedro, 50, has been an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and a vocal supporter of Lux, who publicly came out as a transgender woman in February 2021.
Lux first shared her transition story in a cover feature for Ya magazine, where she revealed that her family’s support was natural and expected. Pedro proudly shared the cover on Instagram, captioning it, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which means “my sister, my heart, our Lux.”
Lux’s admiration for Pedro’s openness and humanity speaks volumes about their relationship and his influence. As Lux puts it, Pedro’s example has encouraged her to embrace her true self without fear.
