Nicola Peltz is praising her mom, Claudia Heffner Peltz, in a social media post amid her ongoing feud with her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham.
“I would choose my mom to be my mom in every lifetime. again, and again, and again,” reads the post the actress re-shared to her Instagram Story on Friday, May 30. Nicola’s post comes shortly after it was reported that Victoria allegedly stole the spotlight at her 2022 wedding to son Brooklyn Beckham by hijacking the couple’s special dance.
© Nicola PeltzA source previously revealed to Page Six that Victoria made her move during Marc Anthony’s performance at the reception. After Nicola and Brooklyn specifically chose Anthony’s “You Sang to Me,” as the track for their dance, Anthony instead called Brooklyn and Victoria — whom he referred to as “the most beautiful woman in the room” — to come forward and share a dance.
“Everyone in the room witnessed what happened,” a source close to the couple told the publication, saying that behavior was just one example in a “pattern” for the former Spice Girl. “The shock was palpable. It was deeply hurtful. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern that still happens to this day.”
A second source told Page Six that Victoria and the rest of the Beckham family are “mystified” by the claims she “ruined” her son’s nuptials ceremony and left the bride “in tears."
“[The newlyweds] had their first dance and a second, as is evidenced, and then Nicola had the traditional dance with her father,” said the insider, who was at the reception. “Much later in the evening when Marc Anthony performed, lots of people got up to dance, and yes, finally, then Brooklyn and Victoria had a dance, as did David and his daughter, [Harper]. Everyone is mystified why that would have upset Nicola.”
While it's not exactly clear what started the feud between the formerly close in-laws, it has been reported that the fashion designer, 51, and her daughter-in-law have been feuding since the April 2022 wedding after the actress chose not to wear a wedding gown designed by Victoria.
Rumors of a growing divide among the Beckham family first surfaced earlier this year after Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday celebration in March. But, things could come to a close some time soon as Brooklyn’s parents are reportedly hoping to mend their relationship.
“Brooklyn’s family adores him and will always be there for him," an insider said. "They just can’t deal with this nonsense anymore."
