Lindsay Lohan is living her best life in Dubai with her family. The fan-favorite star shared a glimpse at her motherhood journey and her quality time with her 2-year-old son Luai. Lindsay revealed that she prefers living away from Hollywood with her husband Bader Shammas.
In a new interview with Elle, the actress, who has kept much of her private life under wraps since moving to Dubai in 2014, is giving fans a rare glimpse into her family’s routines, her plans for the future, and reflections on motherhood after welcoming her son.
“I love having a routine, and I like schedules,” she told the publication. “So my morning routine: Waking up, writing in my journal, sipping my green tea, breakfast with my son. And then Pilates, making sure I go.”
Lindsay traded Los Angeles for the United Arab Emirates over a decade ago. “Even taking my son to the park in L.A., I get stressed,” she explained. “I’m like, ‘Are there cameras?’ In New York, there’s no worry; no one bothers us... But in Dubai? I get all of those things. I get the privacy, I get the peace, I get the space. I don’t have to worry there; I feel safe.”
The actress explained, as in Dubai, taking unauthorized photos or videos of individuals without consent, even in public, is illegal. Despite living far from Hollywood, she recently worked on 'Freakier Friday,' the long-awaited sequel to her beloved 2003 film.
“He’s starting to realize who I am a little,” she revealed. “One day in my trailer I was watching the original guitar scene [in Freaky Friday] and practicing movements. He looked at the screen and pointed: ‘Mama.’”
Lindsay went on to talk about her desire to expand her family. “Once you have one kid, you’re like, ‘Oh, my kid needs a kid to play with,’” she added. “I’m like, ‘He needs a friend.’”
As one of four siblings herself, she said she knows firsthand the importance of a big family. “We have until he’s five,” she said of life in Dubai. “I want to spend more time there. It is nice to have a balance. But my husband and I are always like, ‘Okay, we have until he’s five.’”
