Victoria Beckham brushed off ongoing rumors about tension with her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, as she spent the weekend indulging in some beauty prep.
On Saturday, the former Spice Girl shared a behind-the-scenes moment on Instagram Stories, posting a photo of herself getting her hair straightened while seated in a makeup chair. Clad in just a white bathrobe with hair rollers still in place, she captioned the snap, “Happy weekend x.”
The 51-year-old seemed to be enjoying a bit of relaxation following last weekend’s celebration of husband David Beckham’s 50th birthday at Core, a high-end London venue. Several of their children — Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13 — were in attendance at the glitzy bash. However, Brooklyn, 26, was noticeably absent from the family pictures shared online.
Victoria captioned her photo series, “Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all.” The post also included appearances by Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, and Cruz’s partner, Jackie Apostel.
There have been whispers of a rift between Romeo and Brooklyn, reportedly due to Romeo’s relationship with Turnbull. While some speculated that Brooklyn had dated Turnbull in the past, Page Six confirmed those claims were untrue. Brooklyn and Peltz have skipped multiple events where Romeo and Turnbull were expected, including Victoria’s Paris fashion show earlier this year.
Tensions between the young couple and David and Victoria have also been reported. A source told The US Sun that the strained relationship with Brooklyn and his wife has caused serious emotional distress for Victoria, calling it “her worst nightmare.”
“It’s been challenging ever since Brooklyn got together with Nicola. There was definitely a falling out around the time of their wedding, and while Victoria and David tried to repair things, this situation is a major setback,” the insider revealed.
A separate source speaking to TMZ alleged that Peltz dislikes how Brooklyn’s parents treat him, claiming David yells at his son during phone calls. According to that source, Brooklyn and Nicola have made numerous attempts to resolve the conflict, but the elder Beckhams don’t want to involve Peltz in the discussions.
“She stands up for Brooklyn and doesn’t stay quiet when dealing with his parents,” the source said.
Rumors of a feud between Victoria and Nicola have circulated ever since the actress reportedly declined Victoria’s offer to design her wedding dress for their 2022 ceremony — though both Brooklyn and Peltz have denied that claim.
