Singer Normani and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf will soon be husband and wife! The couple announced their engagement on Thursday, March 13, after meeting in 2022. The couple has many friends celebrating their engagement, but there are two people feeling extra proud: Ciara and Russell Wilson. If it wasn't for them - their love story may have never started.
© GettyAfter the proposal, Ciara and Wilson were some of the first people they called. Ciara shared a screenshot on social media of the couple smiling proudly, with Normani holding up her gorgeous diamond ring. Wilson and Ciara were not together, but they had equally excited faces.
© TikTok: CiaraCiara revealed in the caption that she knew they were destined for love after introducing them. "Russell Wilson and I knew when we introduced y'all 3 3yrs ago ..love was truly in the air!" she wrote, adding, "Now y'all gon be booed up for forever!! This was the best news!"
Wilson is currently a free agent but spent one year playing for the Steelers, which is Metcalf's new team. It's an exciting time in the wide receiver's life, who just locked in a five-year, $150 million contract.
They revealed their engagement after signing the papers. At the introductory press conference for the team, he said to his fiance, “Hold that rock up, baby."
He shared details about the engagement, saying it happened in Houston, and his family and her family were there. “It was my sister’s spring break, and just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with a ring," he revealed.
As for the ring, it's a three- to four-carat oval diamond set on a solitaire ring, according to Olivia Landau, the founder and CEO of The Clear Cut, per Brides. “Depending on the quality and assuming it is a natural diamond, something similar could range between $40,000 to $100,000 [or more]" she explained.
