The King then shared a few words, thanking the president for having them so short after his inauguration, which he called a "testament" to the special relationship between their two countries, as well as their own personal relationship. "Mr. President, I truly believe that with all the challenges that we have in the Middle East, that I finally see somebody that can take us across the finish line to bring stability, peace and prosperity to all of us in the region," His Majesty said. "And it is, I think, our collective responsibility in the Middle East to continue to work with you, to support you, to achieve those lofty goals, so I'm very delighted to be here."

The Royal Hashemite Court announced earlier this month that the King had received an invitation from President Trump to meet. The announcement came just over a week after the president and the King had a call. Per the White House, "President Trump thanked King Abdullah for his longtime friendship, and the two leaders discussed the importance of regional peace, security, and stability" during their call.

King Abdullah was among the monarchs who congratulated President Trump on his inauguration last month. On X, His Majesty penned, "Wishing President Donald Trump every success as he commences his second term. Congratulations on your inauguration, Mr. President. We greatly value our partnership with the United States and are committed to working with you towards a more prosperous and peaceful world."

Missing from Tuesday's White House visit was the King's wife, Queen Rania. During President Trump's first term, the royal couple visited the White House together in April 2017 and in June 2018.

While Rania was not at the White House on Feb. 11, she reunited with First Lady Melania Trump days before the the 2025 inauguration. The Queen and first lady met in Palm Beach, Florida on Jan. 16. According to Her Majesty's office, the pair "discussed various issues of mutual interest, including children’s welfare, as well as improving their education."

The day after their reunion, Rania shared a photo of herself and the first lady in conversation, which she captioned: "It was a pleasure reconnecting with incoming U.S. First Lady Melania Trump in Florida yesterday #Jordan #USA #Florida."
