Arnold Schwarzenegger has plenty of Hollywood experiences under his belt. As an actor who's starred in some of the industry's biggest and most iconic franchises, Schwarzenegger has worked with some of the major personalities of his era. In his book, "Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life," he revealed the one person in Hollywood who rivals his levels of "crazy" when it comes to "thinking big."
The person is someone who's worked with Schwarzenegger on multiple projects, with the two developing a friendship that has withstood the test of time. “There is only one person I have worked with in Hollywood who is crazier than me when it comes to thinking big: James Cameron," He wrote in his book.
"Jim and I have been friends for almost forty years. We’ve done three movies together. Two of them, 'Terminator 2' and 'True Lies,' were the biggest movies ever made when they came out,” he continued.
Schwarzenegger shared that Cameron's passion for everything he does makes his work noteworthy and is the reason why he's been so successful in his career.
“But where Jim really stands head and shoulders above the rest of us is his ability to go all in on his projects. He’s done it time and again,” he said. “In German, we have a saying: Wenn schon, denn schon. Roughly translated, it means, 'If you’re going to do something, DO IT. Go all out.' Jim is the embodiment of that saying.”
Schwarzenegger and Cameron's friendship over the years
Schwarzenegger and Cameron have discussed some of the crazy and funny experiences they've lived through as two of the most notorious figures in the world.
At a forum in 2023, Schwarzenegger shared a story of a trip the pair took to the Amazon. He said that as they were approaching the tribe, Cameron told Schwarzenegger to prepare since no one would recognize him, and to not be offended by that.
"Within a minute people were chanting: 'Arnold, Arnold, Arnold, Arnold!' And then they took me to a hut where they had actually a poster of mine inside that hut," he said, according to PEOPLE.
