Lizzo is getting things done. The singer has been updating her followers on her weight loss process, sharing videos and photos of her workouts over the past months. In a new post, Lizzo shared some photos of herself wearing her exercise clothes, sharing that she'd met her weight loss goals after a lot of work and consistency.
Lizzo shared her progress on Instagram, where she shared some photos of herself wearing a purple workout bra and some tights. She stands in front of the mirror, with her hair held up in braids and with a bandana holding it back, an image that she took after completing a workout.
The second photo shows a screenshot of her app juxtaposed with a photo of her abdominal area. It reads "Weight goal achieved," sharing that she lost 16% of body fat throughout her weight loss journey.
"I did it," she captioned the post.
"Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!"
Lizzo's embracing 'body neutrality'
Lizzo has opened up about her weight loss journey, sharing that it's been a progressive experience she's taken on over the past year.
“I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly," she said in an interview with the New York Times in 2024, after releasing a swim line collection.
“The idea of body positivity, it’s moved away from the antiquated mainstream conception,” she said of her product line. “It’s evolved into body neutrality.”
Lizzo discussed her at times challenging relationship with her body, a feeling that many people can empathize with.
"I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day,” she said. "The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day.”
“There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don’t feel completely positive.”
