George and Amal Clooney are going strong in their marriage. The pair are known to keep a close relationship while continuing their successful careers. The Hollywood star and the barrister share twins, Ella and Alexander, and have shown their preference for keeping their personal lives away from the public eye.
The celebrity couple, who recently celebrated their wedding anniversary, is set to spend a long time apart this year, as the actor will be in New York City, focused on his Broadway show 'Good Night, and Good Luck.' A source shared details about their family dynamic to Life and Style Magazine.
“George has never done Broadway before, and he’s thrilled about the opportunity, but between rehearsals and performances, it means he will spend six months in NYC,” the insider said to the publication. Meanwhile, it was reported that the famous barrister will be in France with the twins.
“Amal is going to remain in France, where their two children are settled in — and there’s no denying this is going to test their 10-year marriage," the source continued. “They’re going to stay in touch over FaceTime and text. George will be able to speak to the kids every night before bedtime, taking the time difference into consideration. And Amal might be able to fly out for the occasional weekend visit.”
This is not the first time the pair spent time apart. However, the source says they have a plan in mind to avoid having issues in their marriage. “It didn’t do the marriage much good. So spending so much time apart is bound to be challenging," the insider added.
George previously talked about how they manage to stay in contact while being apart. “FaceTime, we’ll do that. Mostly it’s just try not to go very long … We spend an awful lot of time together. We try not to have these huge gaps. We’re able to manage, so far, between my work and her work and the things we’re doing; we’re able to manage it pretty well,” the actor said to ExtraTV in 2016.
