Queen Letizia looked powerful at her meeting with the Board of Trustees of the FAD Youth Foundation in Madrid yesterday, Tuesday, December 16. The wife of King Felipe VI chose to debut a new suit that strengthened her image and, interestingly, paired it with a purple bow blouse she has had in her wardrobe for 14 years, dating back to when she was Princess of Asturias. Today, also in the Spanish capital, she continues with her official commitments during this pre-Christmas week by attending the Royal Spanish Academy to take part in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the FundéuRAE Foundation for Urgent Spanish.

In these twenty years, the Foundation, promoted by the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) and the EFE Agency, has become one of the main points of reference for Spanish-speaking journalists and, in general, for language professionals in the news world. Its recommendations on the proper use of the language are disseminated throughout the year, from Monday to Friday, to reach the editorial offices of the media and the e-mail addresses of the thousands of subscribers to the FundeuRAE newsletter. A Spanish dress that transforms her image

This Wednesday, Queen Letizia decided to switch things up and move on from the suit uniform that has defined the final stretch of 2025. This time, she built her look around a grey wrap dress with a midi length and a crew neckline. With long sleeves, the piece is from Cortana, a Spanish label founded in 2001 by the Mallorcan designer Rosa Esteva. The brand was created with a clear goal: to make timeless, top-quality designs, with a commitment to sustainability and local production. From the start, it has produced collections in small workshops in Barcelona and Mallorca, preserving traditional craftsmanship and reducing environmental impact. The brand also says it draws inspiration from Mallorca’s landscapes and textures, with a conscious, responsible approach that blends the best of craftsmanship with contemporary design.

An image refresh with the perfect accessory

Queen Letizia first wore this Cortana dress, the Felicita model, to attend the 23rd Ópera Prima Film Festival in Tudela, Navarra, on November 3, 2023, where she presided over a tribute to the Huesca-born director Carlos Saura. That day, she paired the dress with over-the-knee Nina Ricci boots. Today in Madrid, she reworks the look again, as she did the first time she brought it back, for a meeting with the Royal Board of Trustees of the Gallery of the Royal Collections on February 18, 2025.

In Madrid, both in February and now in December, the Queen chose to reinvent the dress by adding an oversized black Hugo Boss belt on top, which made her silhouette look much more defined. Today she paired it with black boots as well, but this time she went for suede ones with a comfortable chunky heel from Magrit.

As for jewelry on this Wednesday, Queen Letizia did not skip her Italian Coreterno ring, which she has worn faithfully since debuting it on January 6, 2023, and she even wore it in her landmark portraits by photographer Annie Leibovitz. She also brought back her Shewel earrings by Gold and Roses, featuring three parallel hoops made of 18 karat rose gold and diamonds. She first wore these triple hoops on September 6, 2022, and given their style, they would be a perfect piece for Princess Leonor to borrow for her most important looks.
