Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey deeply admire and respect one another. The two actors play important characters in "Sonic The Hedgehog 3" and have taken their press tour to share some sweet words about one another.
© Variety via Getty ImagesIn an interview with Acess Hollywood, Carrey and Reeves revealed that while they didn't work together they admired the other's work.
"We didn't work in the same space, you know," said Carrey. "He was doing the voiceover work and stuff, but when I heard it, I was like, 'That is so in the pocket and perfect.’”
“I mean, this beautiful stoic nature that he has, he really elevated it completely to from what I was even thinking it could be so I was super happy that he's involved.”
“Because he's the man that every man aspires to be. He's very cool and I think you know it's just another cool move in a lifetime of cool moves for him,” he concluded.
Reeves also had plenty of praise for Carrey, praising his comedic chops and his work in the Sonic franchise, where he plays the villain
In response to this, Reeves also praised his co-star, "The man is a creative genius. And in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, he's even more genius. He's double genius," he said, referencing the fact that he's playing two different characters and carries a bigger load than in the first film.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" premiered on December 20th, reuniting the CGI characters Sonic, Knuckles and Tails on a new adventure, facing off Eggman and his grandfather, both played by Carrey. Reeves plays Shadow, Sonic's archrival and beloved character from the comic books.
The film appears to hold a special place in Carrey's heart, with him returning from the retirement he announced back in 2022. "I came back to this universe 'cause, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch," he said.
Then he added, "I bought a lot of stuff, and I need the money, frankly."
