Kelly Ripa, like many women, has had a big crush on Richard Gere. The TV personality has been a longtime fan of his work and even had the opportunity to save someone's life with him.
The moment was discussed in a recent episode of "Live with Kelly and Mark," with Gere revealing that he almost didn't come out to do the show because he was too busy reading her book backstage.

"Because I haven't laughed like this."
Gere and Ripa began recounting the moment, with Gere sharing that her husband Mark Consuelos was also in the room when all of this occurred. "But let's not even bring him into this!" said Ripa, sparking laughter from the audience.
"There's an entire chapter devoted to Richard Gere," explains Ripa to the audience. "There's a woman that passes out at a dinner party and everybody scatters like mice when this woman passes out. Except for Saint Richard Gere and his soldier Kelly."
"And I called 911," said Consuelos.
"He was meandering in the back," said Ripa. "In my mind, Richard is seeing something in me, maybe a co-star potential, who knows. He's never seen anything like me leaping into action with him," she said.
Ripa shared that she bumped into Gere sometime after, and brought up the story again hoping for kinship. "I bump into Richard Gere at the end of the summer, after I've retold this story to anybody that will listen."
"I walk up to you because I am trauma-bonded. And I go, 'Richard. Can you believe the summer is over? Remember when it was just starting and we saved that woman's life?'"
"And Richard Gere looks at me and says, 'You were there?'"
Ripa's sweet message for her husband
Earlier this week, Ripa shared a story of Consuelos' most recent modeling gig, where he starred in an ad for the shoe brand Stuart Weitzman. The images show Consuelos wearing black boxers, socks, and matching shoes, looking incredibly fit and dreamy.
"Dear diary, I woke up today to discover I married a model," she captioned the post.
She also shared a story of a TikToker thirsting after Mark, sharing her agreement. "Mark Consuelos is the first male face of shoe brand Stuart Weitzman. But let's be real, he's actually the body."
"Congratulations to Miss Kelly Ripa," he says near the end of the clip. "Damn girl."
Ripa added a humorous touch of her own, writing, "I’m Kelly Ripa and I approve this message."
